One tip that I have learned is to always have at least a dollar cash in my wallet. I used to NEVER carry cash at all, just my debit card. Well one time I stopped into a store to get a freebie of the week. It didn't even cross my mind that I'd want change. The item was completely free. But then there is this thing called tax... so I still owed about 3 cents. Not really something you want to put on your debit card! So I ended up buying something else just so I didn't feel stupid paying with a card.Lesson learned = always carry at least a dollar with me!
